My story
Our wonderful dad walked the streets of Stratford Upon Avon as a reputable and faithful milkman for over 45 years; we thought it apt to raise money for a wonderful charity who work tirelessly to help people fight their fight against blood cancer.
On the 28th March, we will walk Dad’s milk round to celebrate all that he was and raise awareness of critically-needed research into CMML. As some already know, we were devastated to learn of Dad’s CMML too late - only 2 weeks before he left us. We genuinely had no idea he was even poorly and certainly hadn’t crossed our mind that he was silently fighting blood cancer or that we would lose him. Dad rarely complained of any ailments he may have had and we are unsure whether he was told/understood that he was diagnosed with CMML. As the symptoms are quite generic, sadly it was too late for our wonderful father.
Please support, in any way that you can, to give hope and light to all those facing these incredibly difficult diagnoses and treatment.
Thank you - from the bottom of our hearts ♥️
We're a community dedicated to beating blood cancer. We fund research and support those affected. Since 1960, we've invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. The day we beat blood cancer is now in sight and our researchers are determined to finish the job.
We walk to keep the memory of our loved ones burning bright. We walk to shine a ray of hope for someone as they face their darkest moments. We walk to light the path for a brighter future.
Because together we can be the generation to beat blood cancer.
